Defender Daniel Darkwah has earned the praises of assistant coach of Asante Kotoko Akakpo Patron after his magnificent performance against Nkana FC on Sunday. 

Darkwah was named in coach C.K Akunor’s team for the first time in the CAF Confederation against Nkana and the returning left back impressed earning the plaudits of many.

The former Aduana Stars defender replaced captain Amos Frimpong who was suspended due accumulation of yellow cards.

“The boys are always ready to perform when given the chance. Once captain was out, Daniel came to the party. He is fully fit and played very well yesterday. The technical team gave him thumbs up,” Patron told Happy FM.

After keeping the first clean sheet of the group, Patron also credited the entire defence for showing some resilience in stopping danger men Ronald Kampamba and Walter Bwalya.

“Sefah and Wahab played very well yesterday. Wahab was ready for any opportunities and he didn’t disappoint yesterday when he was entrusted with one,” he said.

Asante Kotoko will next host Al Hilal in Kumasi on Sunday.
