A Bible Club called AWANA, which seeks to train the Youth and Children in Christ organized its annual fun games which saw about twelve churches competing in various forms of sporting games.
Awana is an organization dedicated to bring children to Christ through its exciting ministry, spread through the nations of the world and growing in leaps and bounds throughout Ghana. Awana has been in Ghana for over 30yrs helping churches to reach out to children and youth and discipling them into mature believers grounded in the word.
The organization believes that children are the most fruitful mission field in the world and is built on the belief that, Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed, which gives us the acronym AWANA.
As part of its commitment to the general well-being of children, Awana Ghana organizes regular fun and exciting Games for members of their clubs with the aim of encouraging an active lifestyle, and also to create opportunities to witness to friends and family of the clubbers. The highly competitive Awana Games are unique and athletic in nature, building in participant’s athletic skills, discipline and plain old fun.
On the Saturday 10th August 2019, members of Awana Clubs across the Southern Sector of Ghana congregated at the Cricket Oval of the Achimota School to compete for excellence.
Speaking to Awana Ghana’s Missionary, Pastor Joseph Gyebi about the purpose of the event, he said, Children are vulnerable and their parents need to find outlet like Awana clubs that create a fun environment in disciplining children.
