The launch of the Civil Service Week and Awards Night 2019 was held under the theme Improving Service Delivery to Promote Ghana Beyond Aid. The program took place at CLOGSAG Auditorium in Accra on Monday, November 4 2019.
The Head of Ghana Civil Service, Mr. Nana Kwasi Agyekem-Dwamena said the work of the Civil Service touches on all aspects of life in Ghana, from advising ministers on policies, to delivering service to the public in critical sectors such as education, agriculture, environment, transport, defense, energy, etc.
Nana Kwasi Agyekum-Dwamena in his introductory remarks said the purpose of the gathering was to launch the Civil Service Week Celebration under the theme “Improving service delivery to promote Ghana beyond aid”.
He also said that the office of the civil service has therefore found it necessary to institute the civil service week celebration after more than a decade of non-observation.
He again said “it is important to indicate that the success in governance relies on ensuring the forces of productivity and innovation, so crucial for lifting private sector performance, must equally be allowed to make themselves felt in the ranks of the service”.
Nana Kwasi Agyekum-Dwamena said “the civil service has also embraced technology to improve service delivery. On this note, I wish to declare the civil service week celebration dully launched.
