Kenya national team coach Stephen Migne has explained why he left out veteran Dennis Oliech from his squad to face Ghana next month in Kumasi.

Oliech, who is the Harambee Stars all time leading goalscorer with 33 goals is currently playing for Gor Mahia where he is yet to find his feet.

Migne feels the 34-year-old striker needs to prove himseldf more to warrant a call up.

“I dont want to take a risk on Dennis Oliech, first it is neccessary for him to score for his club Gor Mahia. Not only on penalty shoot and to show me his quality. But as I said, the door is still open.” Migne told Press men in Nairobi.

Oliech who has previously played for Al Arabi, Auxerre, Nantes, Ajaccio, and Dubai SC retired from international football in 2016 only to rescind the decision this year after joining Gor Mahia.
