Media reports on Monday, September 16 2019, on the transfer and posting of new Senior High School entrants using the Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) indicated that the modules had been besieged. The exercise at the Black Star Square was set to enable qualified students to get placement at a school with space for more student intake.
Reports revealed that anxious and angry parents flooded the Black Star Square and in the event to get placement for their wards, a stampede evolved causing death and other minor injuries.
Each stand at the Black Star Square had been categorized according to Students with Grades 6-12 without placement, Students with day schools instead of Boarding and Students with School but want to change placement, and OMY TV reporters on Tuesday September 17 2019, noticed that as early as 9am, all these stands were filled with Parents and their wards
According to some parents who spoke with OMY TV, the situation at the Black Star Square was much better and more organized than the previous day.
There were no casualties recorded so far and the process was a smooth one.
